Classic New York City Hot Dog

Author: Scott Goldshine

Scott has never enjoyed cooking. In fact, he didn’t enjoy eating until later in life.  He ate a plain hard roll for lunch every day for the first two years that he worked at Zabar’s.  Luckily, he has many foods he now enjoys. None more so than a classic hot dog, preferably from  Zabar’s or Katz’s Delicatessen.

Sabrett dog or Zabar’s Kosher Frank
Katz’s Frankfurter rolls or Martin’s potato rolls
Zabar’s deli mustard (optional)
Katz’s Sauerkraut (Optional)

Grill dog long enough so that the exterior is crisp and a little blistered
Place dog in bun
Garnish with condiments as preferred
