Polish Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

This recipe comes from Daniel’s grandfather, Morton Halle. After he passed away, Daniel received a loose-leaf binder in which his  grandfather had hand-written all of his recipes in. This is one the recipes that he most remembers his grandfather making.


24 cabbage leaves
2 ½ lbs hamburger
4 tsps salt
1 tsp pepper
2 cups of cooked rice
2 onions chopped
1 cup flakes
2 eggs
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 can condensed tomato soup
½ can water
2 tbsp brown sugar
½ cup water
2 tbsps lemon juice or vinegar


Blanche the cabbage leaves until limp
Combine next 7 items . Roll in leaves. Cover with mixture of remaining items in baking pan. Cover with foil and back for 1 hour 350 degrees.
