Larry Finkelstein was born in Brooklyn in 1952 at time when every neighborhood had at least one great Jewish bakery. As a result, there was never any baking done in his home.
Larry went on to college and law school, married, had a perfect son (Eric) and worked in areas related to real estate tax. He came to baking late in life when he could no longer find decent rugelach in New York and realized that he could do better then Costco. After baking for friends and family, he became known as the go to guy for rugelach. In 2010, Eric and his business partner Matt planned the opening of their store, Court Street Grocers, and asked that Larry bake rugelach for the sale at the store. The customers liked it, and he hasn’t stopped.GET THE RECIPE>
