Louisa Shafia is a restaurant consultant, food writer, and recipe developer. Her latest book, The New Persian Kitchen, is a healthy, farm-to-table take on Persian cooking. Her first cookbook, Lucid Food: Cooking for an Eco-Conscious Life (Ten Speed Press), is a collection of sensuous, seasonal recipes and eco-friendly advice for the kitchen, and was nominated for an IACP award.
These days, Louisa helps restaurants develop healthy menus, and teaches cooking classes at venues around the country, including Rancho La Puerta Spa, Google, the Stone Barns Center, and the Natural Gourmet Institute.
